It’s a brand that encourages slowing down, savoring flavors, and celebrating the shared experience of food, all while maintaining a distinctly modern, urban sensibility.

Inspired Living Spotlight Interview:
*Founder - Dondrill Glover
Q: Ahmesa is such a beautiful + inviting name, please tell us about its origin and why you chose it for your brand?
A: Thank you so much! I’m most happy to hear that! Ahmesa means to the table in Portuguese. It was perfect for the brand’s "come to the table" tagline.
Q: What is the mission + vision of Ahmesa?
A: At Ahmesa, we invite the world to the table—a sacred space where stories are shared, meals are savored, and the soul is nourished. Rooted in the rich culinary traditions of the Mediterranean, Middle East, and North Africa, we curate artisan salts, spices, and preserves that celebrate seasonal abundance, sea shores and beauty, and ancient spices, Through every jar and sprinkle, we offer a journey—traveling by tableside—where home becomes a destination and flavor evokes faraway places.
We envision a world where the table returns to its rightful place: the heart of the home, the soul of connection. Ahmesa seeks to rekindle the art of gathering—where meals are not rushed but remembered, where beauty is set with intention, and where each taste transports you. We dream of tables dressed in sunlight and linen, carrying the warmth of olive groves, coastal winds, and spice-scented markets. A world where coming to the table means coming alive.

Q: What is your favorite thing about being a creator + brand owner?
A: Realizing my own vision and letting it guide my steps, along with the freedom to be experimental.
Q: Where are you from originally + where do you live now?
A: Western upstate New York and now reside in NYC
Q: If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
A: The French Countryside, and a Parisian apartment.
Q: What place have you traveled to that inspired you the most?
A: That’s a hard question! The way I can describe the collective inspiration:
It would be the Mediterranean Sea regions.
Q: What is your favorite dish to prepare + why?
A: Pasta! It’s easy, quick and generous in portions. You can promptly pull together a dinner party or drop by a gathering, adding a green salad with a bottle of crisp white or rosé wine! Buon appetito !

Q: Please describe for us, your ideal dinner setting. Including location, time of evening, aesthetic, and dinner guests.
A: What a question and what a party it would be! There are so many dream guests in addition to my family, friends and a dream of sitting with all the loved ones lost. Here’s few noted people that I’d love to dine and bring a conversation to the table. Most present and others have caught their wings.
12 Guests: Writers- Toni Morrison, Eli Shafak, Malcolm Gladwell, Alexander McCall Smith, Isabel Allende, Mirelle Guiliano and Paulo Coelho. Q: What flower do you adore the most, and how does it make you feel?
A: Peonies, I absolutely love them. They are only with us for brief time in the season and it makes me want to cuddle them with care and appreciation.
Q: What advice would you give to entrepreneurs seeking to follow in a similar industry?
A: Eat, savor and discover experiences that leave you lingering. Find your voice and define your story, and how want to express your passion in a business.
Q: What is your favorite scent, fragrance or aroma + what memory does it evoke?
A: Citrus is my scent. It’s so fresh, bright and clean. It reminds me of the mornings in summer.

Q: What do you see for the future of Ahmesa?
A: We look forward to launching our Guest House Table, table decor collections. We have partnered with artisans and home collections throughout Western Europe and North Africa through my travels, and in person experiences.
I’m delighted to bring more beauty and handmade footprints our tables. We are going to deepen the brand connection with more pop-up markets, including Ahmesa dinner parties and tablesetting services.
Q: If you could change one thing about this world, what would it be and why?
A: I would bring peace to world.
It perhaps may sound cliché, but world peace and ending wars, would build more bridges to true partnerships and counsel to include all countries. Imagine if every country and it’s people had the opportunity to thrive - the world would be an extraordinary place.
